Right before the event, we had a meeting like we usually do. I felt like I was at the right place. It's difficult to explain how I felt at that moment. I felt like I was invincible, unstoppable, motivated to the max, at peace, free, happy, all this at once. We had a great time praying for the event and encouraging each other. At the event, several women came up to me thanking me because I have said out loud their struggle through my poems. The first time ever I heard poetry I said to myself I will never be able to put myself in that vulnerable position where anyone can see and feel my pain. I was wrong.
Something amazing is happening when you are sharing your story: people see them in you and you see yourself in them. It makes me realize poetry with a powerful message it's what I was born to do.
A good friend of mine told me one day:
"Daj, it's easy for you, you know your gift already. Me, I'm not an artist, I don't have a gift."
Is there any thing that makes you feel free, unstoppable, invincible, motivated, at peace? Take 15 mins to think about it. One doesn't need to be an artist to find his gift. Can you imagine a world with artists only? That's why diversity is so powerful.
My only problem now is to stay motivated and stop procrastinating... That's for another post. All this to say nothing in life is easy so why not doing something that will make you feel invincible, unstoppable, motivated, at peace, free, happy...???
