Solo traveler... Part 1

I love travelling. Since I'm in UAE, I visited 6 different cities. I'm filled with joy every time I'm planning a new getaway! Isn't exciting exploring a new environment and discovering a new culture?

Here are few pictures of my recent travels:

Santorini is an island in the southern Aegean Sea, about 200 km (120 mi) southeast of Greece's mainland.

Incredible sunrise

Dream Island Hotel

November is low season for Greece. The streets were mostly empty and some stores were closed.

Amazing lunch!

I decided to rent a car and go for an island tour.

Black Sand Beach. It was a little chilly... 15C I think but the view was fantastic.

I really don't have words for this dish.... It was yummy!!!!

I don't think it is clear enough... but I had to cancel my tour because of... goats!!! They were coming my way! Me in a tiny little rental car, no way!

 Loukumades. Greek donuts

Santorini was my first exploring experience ever. I was a little scared and nervous on my first day. I think the fact the streets were not crowded boosted my confidence. Sunset was early and there is not a lot of lampposts... I spend 3 days and every evenings I made sure I was in my room a little after sunset.  I will definitely visit one day other parts of Greece as I enjoyed my stay.

Addu City (local administrative code Seenu) is a city in Maldives that consists of the inhabited islands of the southernmost atoll of the archipelago.

I can hear you saying: " Daj, Maldives is a getaway destination for couples!" And my answer is: "I don't care!" I always wanted to visit Maldives. There was an offer and I just jumped on it and I don't regret it. The resort was on a private island, perfect to rest and recuperate.

Yummmm!

Diner with my date: Me Self

Afternoon walk. It took me about 2 hours to walk around the island.

Amsterdam is the capital and most populous municipality of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

I went to Amsterdam when I had about 8 hours layover between Abu Dhabi and  Montreal. Unfortunately it was a raining day but I got a chance to explore a little. My advise if anyone wants to visit a city between flights:

  • You will need more than 5 hours. Remember you will have to go through security again once you get back to the airport.
  • If you have a carry on, leave it in a locker at the airport.
  • Before exiting the airport, go to the information desk and ask how long it will take to visit and what is a must see attraction
  • Set an alarm and GO!

I had to take the metro to go downtown Amsterdam.

I had the chance to do a city Canal Cruise

The famous sexmuseum. I did't have a chance to visit.

I don't regret one second doing the cue for Amsterdam's favorites!

More and more I traveled by myself and explored different cities more and more I love it!

Stay tuned for part 2!
